Welcome to the first episode of the Semi-Pro Cycling Podcast where I discuss why I'm starting this podcast. To me, it feels like the right time to create a place that experienced cyclists can continue the bunch talk and discuss issues that we care about. I'm worried about cyclists not getting a say when it comes to mainstream media taking over our sport. The weekly podcast will address this by not only discussing the ProTour but also smaller, but just as important, issues that cyclists face.
Also on this episode, I discuss the idea of the 2012 Tour de France live commentary that I am offering from July 11. Again, this is about giving cyclists a choice about what media they consume. Plus, it can be lonely watching to the tour alone if your household isn't as keen on cycling as you are. I am really looking forward to connecting with as many cyclists as possible and sharing the highs and lows of the tour. The text element of this show is based on Twitter. If you don't have an account consider signing up, it's an amazing tool to connect with Pro riders and other cycling fans.
