What this event asks of you
Mallorca 312 is a durability event dressed as a sportive. The climbing comes early, through Lluc, Puig Major and the Coll de Femenia, and then you have 150 km of rolling, often windy roads to the finish with tired legs. Riders who fade here are rarely short of a climbing threshold. They run out of the ability to hold tempo late, and they under-fuel the first four hours because the climbs feel manageable.
The day by rider level
| Route | Typical finish | What it needs |
|---|---|---|
| 312 km | 11 to 14 h | Durability past 8 h, fuelling at 80 to 100 g/h, group riding in wind |
| 225 km | 8 to 11 h | Climbing at tempo on 15 km ascents, then 100 km of flat work |
| 167 km | 6 to 8 h | A long day with the same climbs, with pacing on the descents |
